Would you like some homemade fries without the frying?  Try this method to also cut some calories and save on the mess of frying.

Making these fries was on a bit of a whim, some of the measurements for the seasonings are not exact at this time.  When we make them again I will update the post.  3 medium potatoes were enough for Gary and me, with a serving left over.



3 Russet potatoes- washed

1/4 cup canola oil

1 tablespoon Italian seasonings

1/4 tablespoon red pepper flake

Sprinkle of onion powder

Sprinkle of garlic powder

Sprinkle of Greek seasoning

Salt and Pepper to taste



Roughly peel the potatoes leaving a nice amount of skin, or all the skin as you like.  Slice the potatoes into fry size like pictured below.

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of ice water on the counter for an hour, then dry well on paper towels.  Preheat your oven to 400

In a zip lock bag combine the oil and remaining ingredients, combine well with the potatoes. Line the potatoes on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and bake 30 minutes.  Toss the fries; bake for another 30 minutes, or to desired done-ness.

Tip: I broiled them at the very end to add extra crisp, watching them closely to prevent burning.
